The agent that walks the folders
ICM gives you the structure. Hermes is what moves through it.
Why they go together
A folder structure on its own is just tidy. It becomes useful the moment something reads it and acts. Hermes runs on your machine, reads the folder you point it at, and does the job that folder describes.
It also connects out: Discord, Telegram, email, and scheduled jobs that run without you sitting there. So the same folders that tell it how you write can also be the thing that sends you a summary every morning.
The full setup guide lives here: profiles.agentsasfolders.ai. Keys, logins, providers, tools, the whole configuration walkthrough. It is the deep reference and it stays current.
What you need before you start
- Hermes installed and running.
- A folder structure worth pointing it at. That is the 3 folder start.
- One real file inside 1 of those folders. Not a prompt. A note.
The part people miss
You do not paste your context in. You do not build a giant instruction block. You put a file in a folder and you point the agent at the folder. The folder does the explaining.
